  3. Hi, folks. This piece, The Golden Mean, is designed to run on a Macintosh with 8-bit sound and millions of colors.

  5. The artwork was scanned from a 35mm slide of a work by Randi Ganulin, also titled The Golden Mean. The original work is a mixed-media collage/illustration on vellum.

  7. The music was edited from a live recording of the Modern Arts Guitar Quartet playing James Phillipsen╒s ╥Quartet No. 2.╙ The music was digitized and edited on the Macintosh using SoundEdit Pro.

  9. The puzzle was created by Richard Pferdner using DeBabelizer and Macromedia Director.
